Week 3 EOC: Charitable Companies

According to the Forbes website there are many different companies that are contributing large amounts of money to different organizations. Some of these companies that are on the top of the Forbes list are Wal-Mart, Target, and Coca-Cola. Wal-Mart alone donated 197 million dollars in 2004. Target followed behind in 2004 with 88.8 million dollars. And Coca-Cola donated 67.2 million dollars. There was another company that tops them all, “Pfizer would rank No. 1, with more than $1.2 billion of cash and in-kind donations, or 21% of its 2003 earnings. That is the first time a company topped the $1 billion mark in the 11 years the Chronicle has been keeping track.” As said in the Forbes website.  There are many companies that donate funds as well as tangible items such as clothes and food. A lot of this money is dispersed to different research companies as well as victims of weather catastrophes.

Week 6 EOC

The Places where I go to buy basic necessities (i.e. deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc…..) I would go to three places, Albertsons, Smiths, and Food 4 Less. Because those 3 places are the stores that are affordable to buy these basic necessities. Also these 3 top places have a huge selection of hygienic products that I buy for daily use. For instance, this past weekend I went to buy a toothbrush at Albertson for $2.99, and a new body spray for $5.69, the great thing was that these two products that I needed were at a special price, and since I have a Gift Card from there, I have a major advantage in saving money. I saved about a little over $5 when I went to purchase these basic necessities.  Also what is great about places like Albertson is that they have everything that one goes for and it’s worth spending your money especially knowing you’re saving at the  same time.

Week 5 EOC Sony Sleuth-Marketing

With what happened with the recent hacking of the Sony Corporation, which shocked the US and the entire world at large. Sony Corp. told US lawmakers that they found a taunting message during a recent computer attack but it still doesn't know who stole personal information from more than 100 million of its online-gaming accounts. Sony, in a letter to Congress released on Wednesday said the hackers didn't leave any traces of their attacks, which is lead to be the biggest data breaches up to date.  But Sony said it discovered a file left on its servers called "Anonymous. The contents of that file said "We are Legion," which is the tag line of a loosely affiliated group of Internet vigilantes dubbed Anonymous.
Since the breach, Sony has been under intense scrutiny and its videogame chief, Kazou Hirai, has been under fire. Adding to the political pressure, New York's attorney general, Eric Schneiderman, Tuesday issued subpoenas to Sony for documents related to its security systems, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Sony's letter to lawmakers was its response to a request from a congressional committee examining data-breach issues. In its letter, Sony said it was the "victim of a very carefully planned, very professional, highly sophisticated criminal cyber attack designed to steal personal and credit card information for illegal purposes."
